Introduction

Smt.Salunkabai Raut Arts and Commerce College,Wanoja, run by Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, organized an orange fruit crop workshop on 29.01.2023 in association with All India Coordinated Research Project Citrus Fruits, Fruit Science Department, Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, Akola and Smt. Salunkabai Raut Arts and Commerce College, Wanoja.

President of Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha Smt. Kamlabai J. Raut, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University Dr. Sharad Gadakh was present as the chief guest. Secretary of Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha Smt. Sushilabai R. Raut, Registrar of Dr. P.D.K. University Dr. Surendra Kalbande, Research Director of the University Dr. Vilas Bhave, Director of Extension Education Dr. Dhanraj Undirwade, Treasurer of Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sansth Shri Ramdasji Raut were present as the chief guests. Mr. Prahlad Shelke, Principal of the college, Dr. Devendra Gawande were present. The program started with the worship and garlanding of the statue of Vairagyamurti Sant Gadge Baba and Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh.

Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sharad Gadakh, who was the inaugural speaker, appealed to the farmers present to conserve and market the produce themselves using the technology developed by the university while producing oranges. Hon'ble Registrar Surendra Kalbande expressed satisfaction that orange cultivation is increasing in the non-traditional areas and the progress of such areas is being made. Smt. Kamlabai Raut, president of the program, thanked the dignitaries present on the occasion and greeted the farmers present on the occasion.

The first session of the workshop was attended by Dr. Ujjwal Raut, Associate Professor, Department of Horticulture, Dr. P.D.K.V. Akola as the chief guide and Prof. Prakash Lahase, Vice Principal of the college was present as the President.

A.B.S.S.P. was the lead guide for the second session of the workshop. Dr. Yogesh Ingle of Citrus Fruits Department and Prof. Dr. Mamta Pathrikar, Head of Political Science Department of the college were present as the President. On this occasion, Dr. Yogesh Ingle gave in-depth information about dinkya, coal and greening disease and effective solutions to it.

Treasurer of Dnyanganga Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha Shri Ramdasji Raut was present as the President and Retired Agriculture Officer Shri Prahlad Shelke, Principal of the college Dr. Devendra Gawande, Vice Principal Prof. Prakash Lahase, Head of Marathi Department Dr. Gajanan Ghongte. Shri Ramdasji Raut, president of the program, thanked all the dignitaries present in the workshop as well as the farmers present on behalf of the organization. The workshop was attended by 300 orange growers from Wanoja area as well as all faculty and non-teaching staff of the college.
